The town only has a few places open, shops and villagers. Your goal is to bring new people and business to town. Each person has a friendship rating (hearts). Many things happen as ppl grow to like you: unlock new music notes, learn new recipes and gifts.
Ex: the mayor loves potatos, give him one daily or weekly to get his heart metor up to 3; more options and land become available

The Two Mines There are two mines you can access: Moonlight Mine and Lake Cave. Moonlight Mine is by the Mountain Summit and is avaiable year round. This mine mostly has ores but you can find gems on the lower levels. If you reach the 100th level and have met Tim he will be there to give you a Powerberry. The Lake Cave is only accessable in the Winter because you have to wait for the lake to freeze over so you can cross it. There are only a handful of ores but a bontiful amount of rarer gems. If you reach the 100th level in his mine you'll reach a Happiness Note. There is also a lake on the bottom floor where you can catch the extremely rare Jamasquid. Both mines some floors where gems are more plentiful and one you cannot get down.
